Importing cars in Chile

Those Chileans older (18 years) with one or more years of residence abroad and with a break of less than 30 days during the past year, you can import a car benefits from the Customs Tariff Item 0033, directly from abroad or from a Free Zone. If the traveler is abroad, or Chilean, but that does not meet the requirements of this standard, you can import a vehicle only if it is new, fulfilling all the customs formalities, bank and canceling all the rights and taxes. Also, consider not using those vehicles in the year immediately prior to import, provided that such date is no later than 30 April of the year following that model.
